Tourism is the most valuable foreign exchange earner forJamaica.

In 1988, we traveled to Montego Bay for vacation. Seven days and six nights in the most beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Here are some pictures from our trip. Enjoy!

This a view from Jack Tar Village toward the Bay and town.

This is another view from beach. The Cruise ships came in everyday while we where there.
The pier to the left is where small boats come up to take Tourists out into the bay.
Glass Bottom Boat
Guided tours out in the Bay, beautiful coral reefs underwater.

Rafting on the Martha Brae
River Rafting on the Martha Brae is a unique attraction.
Seated on a 30 ft bamboo raft built for two people, your raftsman commands your attention to the natural beauty of the island interior, rich in the history of Jamaica's past, as you glide serenely over the gentle rush of the rapids.
Rafting on the Martha Brae is about an hour from Montego Bay resort. They operate under license from the Jamaica Tourist Board. Rafts are piloted by skilled, licensed raftsmen.

Rosehall
The Rosehall Great House, one of Jamaica's largest and most beautiful great houses, built around 1760, reveals the legendary history of the infamous White Witch named Anne Palmer.

This is her bedroom, the portait on the wall is Anne Palmer.
They say the Great house is haunted by her.

This Anne Palmer's grave site. She was buried on top of the ground because of supersition. When we were there one members in our group found a $20. coin in Jamaican money at the base of the grave. I still have the coin. I keep it for good luck.

Alligator Farm
On the way to one of our tours, our guide stopped at this alligator Farm.
You might remember this picture, this pond was used in one of the 007 James Bond Films. He walked on alligators accross the pond, remember!

Jamaica is jungle, this is a view of the bay on the way to Ochio Rios. We had tons of fun in Jamaica and if you are thinking about going, GO! You will not regret it. Here are some links to help you decide.
